Joyce Onyekaba
Civil Surgeon Dr. Joyce Onyekaba graduated in 1984 with a Bachelor of Medicine,
Bachelor of Surgery (MB.BS). She completed her residency in Internal
medicine in 1992 at Harlem University Hospital, New York. Harlem Hospital is
an affiliate of the Columbia College of physicians/ surgeons. Dr. Onyekaba
received her board certification in 1993 and 2003 from the American Board of
Internal Medicine. Dr. Onyekaba has a vast knowledge of tropical disease
conditions because she practiced for several years in sub saharan Africa.
She also worked for Health Partners organization in Minnesota for twelve
years. She is the current medical director at Crown medical Center. Dr.
Nha Peter Nguyen
Family Practitioner Dr. Nguyen originally from Viet Nam, graduate from the
University of Minnesota Medical School in 2004. Dr. Nguyen is a
Board Certified Family Doctor
After his residency in Family practice he worked at the
urgent care Center in Monticello Minnesota and with the Health Partners in
Minneapolis. Dr. Nguyen joined Crown Medical in 2008 and he is in charge of
Brooklyn Park Center.
Elena
Polukhin, M.D., Ph.D.
Dr. Elena Lev Polukhin is a Board Certified specialist
in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Her organization, the
Rehabilitation Specialist is Collaborating with Crown Medical Center in
patient care. Dr. Polukhin received her MD, Ph.D. degrees from Russia. She
has conducted several novel researches on rehabilitation of disabled
individuals using innovative rehabilitation techniques. Dr. Polukhin pain
management expertise is well respected worldwide. She is currently a
faculty member in the Integrative Pain Management Program at the University
of Minnesota and Hennepin County Medical Center. A professional athlete, she
competed in the Russian Olympic Team. A humanitarian and active community
leader, Dr. Polukhin was one of the founders of the Eastern European Medical
Society and the current vice president of Russian American Medical
Association. Crown Medical is happy to have Dr. Polukhin collaborate with
us.

Dr. Melvin
Coleman
Clinical
Psychologist
Melvin is
our clinical psychologist with over 30 years of active clinical
psychology practice experience. His area of expertise
include family / individual services; diagnostic assessment; career and
professional development supports; anxiety and stress reduction
treatment; clinical maintenance and crisis management. Dr. Coleman
joined Crown Medical in 2007. His services have been extremely valuable
to the immigrant communities, especially the refugees from war torn
areas of the world.
Nina
Bacaner, M.D; M.P.H; DTM & H
Dr. Nina Bacaner (Board Certified in Internal Medicine) received her
Medical Degree from Boston University School of Medicine; a Masters
Degree in Public Health from Harvard School of Public Health; and a
Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene from the London School of
Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. She also holds a certification in
Travelers Health from the International Society of Travel Medicine; and
a certification in First Line Therapy, Nutrition, and Lifestyle
Management. Dr. Bacaner has worked at a primarily Latino community
clinic in Boston, MA, and at the Community University Health Care Center
in Minneapolis, MN. She was a faculty Member at Harvard Medical School,
and is currently on the faculty of the University of Minnesota Medical
School. Dr. Bacaner has published articles on travel, tropical, and
immigrant medicine. She is also passionate about integrative medicine,
nutrition, and lifestyle balance. Crown Medical Center is pleased to
have Dr. Bacaner join us with her wealth of experience.
Caroline
Stein, PA Caroline graduated
from the University of Wisconsin PA Program. She gained extensive
clinical practice experience in preceptor programs working at St. Paul
Surgeons and the University of Wisconsin Hospital Madison, Wisconsin.
Caroline has lived in Namibia, Southern Africa. Her primary interests
include providing preventive care and managing chronic disease
conditions. She joined Crown Medical Center in 2009 and hopes to be
able to overcome cultural and linguistic barriers, which have prevented
minorities from seeking effective health care services
